Oregon Soars to Victory at Big Ten Indoors with Strategic Brilliance-Ducks dominate both men and win to take top honors in their first season in a new conference

The University of Oregon Ducks won it all but let me tell you this…it wasn’t easy.

Oregon is a well-rounded team with an impressive coaching staff. If a team wants to win a title, it has to be able to score points in different events across the board. The Ducks did just that displaying a well-thought-out plan to win the Big Ten Men’s and Women’s Indoor Championships.

How did Oregon pull off two title wins in the first year in the Big Ten?

My answer is I don’t know. The new Big Ten with teams like Oregon, USC, and UCLA brought a new vibe to the Big Ten.

I’m going to say this, and you heard it here first from TexasTrackDad, Illinois scored 82 points, which were 97% field events. If the University of Illinois recruits a couple of sprinters who can score points — Oh boy, look out!

Well, you know USC’s going to USC wherever it goes. Dajaz Defrand set a meet record in the 60-meter dash and won gold in the 200-meter dash. USC knows how to do it with style. From All-Star hurdler Johnny Brackins Jr. to Christine Mallard yelling “Fight On!” after an electrifying 4x400 performance, USC will also be a challenger for the outdoor season.

Not far behind, USC’s Defrand was Oregon’s Jadyn Mays sprinting to 22.66 seconds in the 200 meters and 7.15 seconds in the 60-meter dash. A solid performance by Mays as always.

I saw some great performances by some young teams in the Big Ten Indoor Championships. The Big Ten outdoor season will also bring some new young faces who did not compete much in the indoor season. Guys and gals. get your popcorn ready it’s going to be a fun one.

See y’all outside!
